INVOICE FINANCE MADE EASY

The Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA) has launched an invoice finance presentation which provides an insight into the workings of the different types of funding available to businesses from the Asset Based Finance industry. The presentation guide takes an individual through how Invoice Finance works in practice; how the client communicates with the financier, how money is released based on the invoices raised and can give individuals an idea of how much funding might be available to their business based on their invoice volumes.

The easy to understand presentation explains some of the different products available from the Asset Based Finance industry, including Factoring and Invoice Discounting, otherwise collectively known as Invoice Finance solutions. The presentation also outlines the benefits of this type of funding, and explores what types of businesses (usually SMEs) should use them and why.

The presentation guide has been developed for potential clients of the industry and also for brokers; to better enable brokers to make the most informed suggestions to businesses considering their funding options. The presentation breaks down industry 'jargon' and will help brokers and businesses alike make informed decisions about funding options and determine if Invoice Finance is right for them. The guide also includes a calculator tool to help businesses determine how much cash could be generated by using invoice finance.

"In my experience many companies are struggling with cash flow issues simply because they are unaware of what is available to them. We created the guide and put it in the Public Enquiries area of our website to enable individuals to become more knowledgeable about Invoice Financing. We hope it will enable businesses to make educated decisions on what is best for its cash flow management. Cash flow is the life blood of any business, and never has it been more important to stay on top of this area than it is in these challenging times." said Kate Sharp, CEO of the ABFA.

The free guide can be accessed from www.abfa.org.uk/public/industryinformation.asp and takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.

The ABFA is the body that represents the interests of the asset based finance industry in the UK and Ireland. Members range from subsidiaries of major international banks to small independent finance providers.

Invoice Finance is a term used to describe a range of products, Factoring and Invoice Discounting, that help businesses manage cash flow. It bridges the gap between the delivery of goods or services and the payments from the customer.
