The second ABFA Industry Quiz Night Competition reached its conclusion on 19th November, at Metro Bar and Grill in Birmingham, as 'Barclays Eagles' were crowned the 2009 'ABFA Quiz Champions'.
Nine teams from the regional heats earlier in the year won the right to compete once again at the final for the illustrious title. Quiz-master Jack ensured the teams were tested on a range of subjects from geography and general knowledge to music and Hebrew! The atmosphere at the Metro Bar & Grill was absolutely amazing with lots of light- hearted banter going on between the teams: such a pity there were no points on offer for singing!
It was a tense ending with two teams tying for first place. A buzzer round was needed to decide the winner. At the end of the night, in the third place were 'Scrambled Eggheads' from Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance in Birmingham; in the second place were 'Quizzee Rascals' from Barclays Asset & Sales Financing in Basingstoke; and in the first place were 'Barclays Eagles' from Barclays Asset & Sales Financing in Manchester. The top two teams were presented with trophies by Brian Hamblin from PKF.
