We are delighted to announce that we have a new member of staff. Alex Waterman has recently joined us at the FDA as our new Head of Education. Alex brings with him a wealth of industry experience, joining us from a Locums agency and having previously held Client Manager and Senior Client Manager positions at RBS Invoice Finance (then Commercial Finance) and IGF Invoice Finance respectively.
There are several new initiatives that Alex will be focused on moving forward during 2007. The first is the continuing development of further e-learning courses. In early 2007 we will launch the first Distance Learning e-learning course, the e-Learning Foundation course, which will give students the choice of taking the workbook or on-line e-learning version. During the course of this year we will also be working on developing our third industry risk course. We will be looking at developing Industry Risk - The Recruitment Industry, to add to our popular Industry Risk - the Food Industry and Industry Risk - Road Transport and Logistics courses.
We are also currently conducting a review of the FDA Diploma course, and Alex will be in touch with all Member Training Managers to ask for their views and feedback on this very well respected industry qualification.
In addition to these plans, during the course of the year we will also be investigating any potential market for FDA Distance Learning courses and e-Learning courses within Europe. This could be seen as an extension of the current FDA activity within Europe, with another joint CFA/IFG/FDA course currently being organized for 6th -9th March 2007 in Barcelona, Spain. This course, the European Field Audit and Fraud course, is a three-day course designed for Practioners with about three years experience in the risk area. Bookings are currently being taken and further information on this course can be found in the Day Course section of this website.
As part of his remit Alex will also be managing our Day Course Programme, ensuring that our Day Course offering is keeping in line with the requirements of the industry. This will focus around the most recent asset based lending courses and ensuring the continued momentum of developing new courses is maintained.
If you have any questions regarding the above then please do not hesitate to get in touch. Alex can be reached on 0208 334 0814 or alex.waterman@thefda.org.uk.
I am sure you will join me in wishing Alex every success in his new position.
