At the
Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA), formerly known as the FDA, 2006 was a
year to celebrate! It was the FDA’s 10 year anniversary which celebrated the industry
advancing over £10 billion to UK and Irish businesses. The growth of the industry
has been staggering, and what better way to mark it than by throwing a year-long
party…
Throughout the year the, then, FDA engaged with the public, the
press, intermediaries, our Members and our Affiliates, to take the existing FDA
activity in all sorts of areas to new heights. Our message was a simply one –
if it was ever in any doubt – this industry has definitely come of age – and we
want everyone to help us celebrate it!
Last year we were focused on
increasing people’s awareness of the industry and their knowledge of the industry.
We targeted intermediaries, accountants and brokers, as well as end users. We
also raised our profile within our Member companies and we visited Members throughout
the year and discussed our products and services. Last year’s Annual Dinner was
held at the Grosvenor House Hotel where 1,000 of the industry’s finest gathered
to help the FDA celebrate its 10th anniversary and to help celebrate the achievements
of this growing industry.
